The talented pastry chefs at The Okura Prestige Bangkok have taken inspiration from this explosion of colour and scent to create a special Sakura Blossom Afternoon Tea at Up & Above Bar. Guests can indulge in savoury delights that include Jerusalem artichoke vichyssoise with lemon zest, smoked salmon and cucumber sandwich on pumpernickel, tartlet of parmesan custard with ratatouille, and mini brioche with duck rillettes and orange. These offerings pair beautifully with a glass of Champagne, or Prosecco.
Of course, no high tea is complete without a selection of sweet treats and those served with the Sakura Blossom Afternoon Tea are redolent of the fragrant flavours of spring and cherry blossoms. They include fluffy Yuzu jam rolls, stuffed Daifuku rice cakes, velvety Cremeux puddings, and delicious macarons. These are complimented by a rich chocolate truffle, strawberry shortcakes, and scones flavoured with Sakura blossoms. All make the perfect companion to a cup of rich illy coffee or freshly brewed premium Saro and Mariage Frères teas.
Sakura Blossom Afternoon Tea is available from 1 April – 30 June 2017, 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. daily at Up & Above Bar priced Baht 1,190++ inclusive of premium coffee or tea for 2 persons, Baht 1,690++ with Sake (250 ml) or with 2 glasses of Prosecco, Baht 2,750 with two glasses of Champagne.
