Salathip offers diners who have a palate for Thai food and aromatic Thai herbs with Green Papaya Salad with Grilled Pork Jowl, a much-loved dish for Thais nationwide. This irresistible combination of green papaya, chillies, palm sugar, peanut, fish sauce and fresh lime juice is presented in creative ways for dinner. At Salathip, the dish is cooked à la minute using locally sourced fresh ingredients at the guests’ table. This complex-flavoured dish is priced at Bt450++. Guests may enjoy it with GrandMonte, Spring, Shenin Blanc, Khao Yai, Thailand by the glass at Bt340++ or by the bottle at Bt1,600++.
Shang Palace’s experienced Executive Chef Chow Wai Man has carefully chosen to prepare Steamed Giant River Prawn with Garlic Sauce and Vermicelli, a traditional Chinese delicacy that fills the Chinese food lover’s heart with warmth and deliciousness. Chef Chow creatively cooks the giant river prawns with his secret recipe using fresh garlic, white pepper and fresh tobiko. The dish is available at Bt1,200++ each and may be paired with Lost Turtle, Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand by the glass at Bt460++ or by the bottle at Bt2,200++.
Italian food lovers can unwind with a glass of red or white wine and savour Volti ’s tempting 16-Hour Slow-Roasted Suckling Porchetta filled with Italian Herbs, Glazed Purple Cabbage and Pommery Mustard Jus into which the chef incorporated fresh seasonal ingredients and flavours to perfectly match the guests’ taste. The suckling pig is deboned and filled with pork farce flavoured with herbs and fennel seeds. Slow roasting makes the pork very tender and succulent with a thin, brittle, crispy skin. This tasty dish is priced at Bt1,100++. To enhance the flavours, guests can enjoy the dish with L’Arco, Chianti, Tuscany, Italy by the glass at Bt390++ or by the bottle at Bt1,900++.
