Master Chef Shigeru Hagiwara and his team at The Okura Prestige Bangkok’s award-winning Yamazato Japanese restaurant celebrate autumn in Japan with a series of seasonal treats in Gozen lunch and Kaiseki dinner menus.
The two Gozen lunch platters encompass traditionally prepared soup, sashimi, tempura, and grilled and simmered dishes featuring premium seafood and autumn ingredients. The first platter includes offerings such as crab meat dumpling with shimeji mushroom, and a succulent sashimi course of tuna, surf clam and yellowtail. Stars of the second platter are simmered Pacific saury with ginger and tofu skin sauce and tempura featuring Ochi-pike eel.
On the Kaiseki dinner menu is a delicious starter of octopus, shrimp, sea snail, maitake mushroom, and ginko nut with fermented bonito guts egg yolk sauce, and a wonderful simmered dish of sea bream with turnip, grilled leek, shiitake mushroom, and a hint of ginger. The dinner menu also has a hearty grilled offering of sea bass and beef Hoba yaki garnished with elingi mushroom, ginko nut, pickled turnip and simmered chestnut. Guests can finish off with a dessert of baked apple and sweet beans.
