Crispy rice cake with chicken and shrimp dipping

“Saneh Jaan” serves up authentic Thai tastes starting with appetizer “khao tang na tang”, a much-loved Central Thailand dish where crispy deep-fried mini rice crusts are topped with savory, sour and sweet condiment with shrimps. Rare, ancient recipe “nam prik paa” is made with premium quality shrimp paste that is mashed with shallots, Thai garlic, chili and bitter orange (som saa) for extra tang and citrus note. Shredded grilled prawn is then added. This tasty, flavorful dip is served with assorted fresh greens, deep fried catfish fluff and your choice of steamed rice.

Festive Season

Well-balanced and pleasant tasting entrée, “goong sauce ma kham”, uses grilled sizable river prawns, topped with sticky sweet and sour sauce made of caramelized palm sugar and tamarind juice. The prawns are then topped with fried shallots and whole dried chili. This sweet and sour dish also entices with slight prawn butter. “Yum hua plee” is dressed with sour and sweet chili oil and coconut cream. Thrown in the mix are also shredded boiled chicken, shrimps, and fresh banana blossoms that are crunchy and not too tart, served together with seven minute egg. The dish is sprinkled with fried shallots to counterbalance the rich dressing.
