To celebrate the traditional Japanese “Tango no Sekku”, Boy’s Festival, leading authentic Japanese restaurant Yamazato at The Okura Prestige Bangkok is offering special Gozen lunch and Kaiseki dinner menus throughout the month of May.

The Gozen lunch features a choice of platters, the first of which comprises a starter, assorted sashimi, green tea fish noodle soup. The second platter includes grilled snowfish, tempura, and a dish of simmered rice with mountain vegetables and salmon roe served with pickles and miso soup. Dessert is Kashiwa mochi rice cakes filled with red bean jam and wrapped in oak leaves.

The Kaiseki dinner menu offers an 8-dish feast including an appetizer of fig with lightly grilled conger eel, crab and broad beans garnished with maitake mushrooms and white asparagus; green tea fish noodle soup; assorted sashimi; a special dish of simmered egg custard with ginko nuts and tofu skin; grilled beef and young sweet fish with papaya dressing garnished with elingi mushrooms; and a traditional dish of Tai Kabutoni – heads of sea bream specially simmered in a thick soy sauce.

Special Boy’s Festival Gozen and Kaiseki at Yamazato: Tango no Sekku is available from 1-28 May 2017, lunch 11:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m., dinner: 6 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Priced at Baht 1,300++ for Gozen Lunch and Baht 4500++ for Kaiseki Dinner.
